You remember those teenage years when you grew from being a child into an adult? How awkward and ungainly do the photos look?

This piece is a cheeky juvenile fairy wren caught mid-transition, flaunting his adorable mix of youthful fluff and the promise of those iconic adult blues. He nearly landed on my daughter’s hat and then sat there literally strutting his stuff on a treated pine post. I must confess, I was a little jealous that he was navigating his change with such pluck.

This piece is more than just a painting; it's a slice of Aussie wildlife served with a side of laughter and a pinch of nostalgia. Hang it up, and let the fairy wren's journey from fluff to fabulousness add a touch of Aussie whimsy and perhaps even inspiration to your space. While most of us prefer change to be kept in the ashtray of the car - perhaps it’s time to embrace it a little more.
